An explosive device explodes in the office of a Mexican senator

Citlalli Hernández has suffered minor injuries after exploding a bomb hidden in a book in his Senate office.

An explosive has exploded on Wednesday afternoon in the office of Senator Morena (Lopez Obrador’s party) Citlalli Hernandez, causing minor burns on his hands and face. The artifact was hidden in a book and exploded around 7:00 pm on the third floor of the legislative chamber.

The senator, who has been attended by the health services of the Chamber, sent a tweet, which she later deleted, hours after the explosion: “I feel good and strong, I totally condemn the violent and intimidating act that I suffered in my office, but I confirm my conviction that the revolution of consciences and change in this country must be given and given peacefully.

At the moment, the sender of the package is unknown and the reasons that could lead to the shipment. The coordinator of Morena in the Senate, Ricardo Monreal, assured that the explosive seemed home. In addition, he pointed out that measures will be taken to guarantee security in the Chamber.

“When he uncovers it, nothing happened, except for minor injuries, I spoke with her immediately and she was calm,” Monreal told Reforma newspaper.”
